Have you ever prayed, asking to receive “Crystal Clear Clarity” on what you need? What you need in order to make a positive impact with the life God has gifted you? When you get piercingly clear on what you need; ASK for it!
While I was getting my Master’s in Voice Performance, I was hired to teach Voice Class. On day one, after roll call, I would verbally tell the class one by one what I needed and ask them for it. I’d start by saying, “You know I only brought a black pen with me today, and I need a blue ink pen. Does anyone have one I can use?”
Immediately, everyone began looking and several hands went up to volunteer their blue ink pens. Next, I asked for a small, spiral memo pad with the same result. Everyone began checking their backpacks and briefcases to help meet my need.
Finally, and again SPECIFICALLY, with “Crystal Clear Clarity,” I asked for a certain amount of change to use in the vending machine. And once again, students were ready to generously help meet my need.
At this point, Inevitably, students would begin raising their hands, asking if they were in the correct Voice Class 101! I reassured them they were.
I wanted to teach them one of the many important life lessons I’ve learned.
“Find out what you need and ask for it.”
