Farewell, My Love
It's 2020 and I'm entering a new season, after having transitioned my dear husband, Max, to heaven last Fall.
In one of the last notes Max wrote to me he said,
“I’ll always be watching over you from heaven with Jesus at my side. God will be watching over all of us. Look for me in the butterflies and insects and other nature you come across…. “
I've been thinking, to pursue God is to become a butterfly; to give up your legs and gain wings to soar toward your highest calling. In order to do that, you have to be willing to let go of being earthbound. Once you’ve transformed into a butterfly, you would never trade your wings.
Max often loved to play a song I wrote called, “Magic Butterflies.” The morning we had his celebration of life at our beloved Butterfly Wonderland in Scottsdale, I could hear Max singing the words back to me from the other side:
“There’s a song deep inside you;
feel the love and peace surround you.
Open your eyes
Spread your wings and fly with me….
Let’s soar into the day
with our hearts flying high and free
like magic butterflies!
Stories unfolding for you and me....” Patrice
